Our History
Interagency began meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of every month in 1989 under the guidance of Precinct 4 Judge Judy Hobbs with a focus on at risk students. Around 2006, Marge Tripp was appointed as Executive Director. Interagency was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization and a steering committee was gathered to poll the community on what gaps existed- with mental health rising to the top. Then, in 2007, school-based mental health services were initiated.
Ahead of the times, this program has expanded from 1 to 7 school districts. To date, over 7,083 students have received individual therapy, 100,504 consultations have taken place, 361 families have participated in family therapy and 330 students have received psychiatric care.
After 15 years, Interagency will no longer administer the rural school-based mental health program in East Williamson County but will continue to act as the fiscal agent. Impact Counseling Services Inc will continue this vital program. In 2022-2023, Interagency will focus on bridging other gaps in social services. Exciting times ahead!
